I'm still recovering after a 5 days volleyball tournament in Akureyri, north Iceland. First, it took me two days to pack for me and my hubby and for the kids to stay with my parents meanwhile. Then we flew to Akureyri and spent five days playing volleyball and having fun with 1200 other players! After we came back we were so tired we still haven't unpacked completely! Am I getting to old???..... NAH!!!
Well, back to real life.....
Occasionally you come across books that will be your favorite for years. Books you can flip through over and over again - where you want to make everything in it (and own all the fabrics shown!) -- Patchwork Please! by Ayumi Takahashi at Pink Penguin blog is one of these books. The book was published last year and since I've been following Ayumi's blog for a while I preordered it and had to wait few weeks, but it was worth it.
Ayumi does a lot of foundation paper piecing but I haven't master that skill, I've only done the ice lolly which is also a pattern from Ayumi. Here is my next attempt, a pincushion from her book, a real cutie! I also found a great tutorial on Youtube on how to do foundation paper piecing.
I'm off to finish emty my bags before the sweaty volleyball outfit crawls out itself LOL!
