FINALLY I've finished binding my bed quilt!!!
The story of this quilt has become embarrassingly long. I started the front in the fall 2011 and finished it the year after, in September 2012. Halldóra, a long arm quilter, quilted it beautifully for me and finished it in October the same year. I decided to be really clever (which I was!) and made the binding before I took the quilt to the professional quilter. But after I got it back from Halldóra nothing happened, the quilt and the binding were just laying aside for months!
When I finished cleaning up my sewing room I decided it was time to finish the quilt, my bed had been waiting for it too long. It took me several evenings to bind it (sitting on the couch, watching tv while stitching) since the binding was 11 yards long. The new Clover wonderclips from Anna made it a lot easier, I can recommend them 110%
The fabrics are from Joel Dewberry, a mix from several of his older lines. I bought it at the Fat Quarter Shop. The pattern is also from him. It's called Pendand Quilt and was free on his blog. I can't find there it anymore but I found this page offering it as a free download if you're interested.
The quilt looks wonderful on my bed and I've started making pillows from the leftovers, I'll show you when they're ready :)
