Finally the flu got us. Eiki (hubby) came home last week with a sore throte and fever and then little Dagur replaced his dad. I had to hug and kiss the little lad so much it was inevitable that the flu caught me. The only thing I've been doing last week is to nurse the others and then lie on the couch myself.
While I was nursing the others I made this divine almond cake. I tasted it when I visited my friend Helga in December and I managed to cry out the recipe. I'll hear from Helga tomorrow and get her permission to reveal it here -- let's just hope this isn't an old family recipe Helga is supposed to take with her to the grave!! LOL
I also managed to get to the Föndra sale (Föndra is a big arts and crafts store) and buy a 50% off fabric for four sweatpants for Arna (5) -- she literally has no pants left and she only wants to wear leggings and skirts :) -- The pattern has lied on my dining table for a week now, I just hope I can cut and sew the pants this week.
Finally I got to finish this lopi sweater for myself. It's called Kross (Cross) and is from Istex book nr. 28. A very simple one and I'll picture it tomorrow for you. My friend Anna has just ordered lopi for the same sweater, I can't wait to see hers
We had a great and sudden snowfall last week. The snow was just dinging down and I got these wonderful pictures. The night pictures were taken just after midnight and you could hear a needle falling to the ground, I LOVE IT!! (Oh, and Anna, if you're reading this, this is how a STILL weather looks like in Iceland LOL!!!!!)
Have a great week everyone ;)
My hobbit feet LOL -- brrr... this was COLD
Arna enjoyed the view while coloring
