This fall I decided to participate in Chookyblue's Secret Santa Christmas Swap (SSCS). Before end of November I had made this table runner and sent it over to Cathy in Australia (see at the bottom of this post)
Shortly after that I got a parcel sent to me, also from Australia. It was almost a month till Christmas so I hid the present well and... then I couldn't find it!! Pretty embarrasing, but being pregnant and all, I guess that's my excuse :) - I finally found it though (phew!) and you should have seen the look on my face when I opened it!
It always amazes me how much work and effort quilt-bloggers put into their work, making a present for a total stranger.
My Secret Santa's name is Janice. The package contained not one or even two presents, but many!
First, there was this gorgeous christmas table runner. Janice must have studied my blog well because this is so much ME! I love bright colors and solid white as background fabric, see how pretty the runner looks on my coffie table?!!
Second, there was this Zakka bag... I love zakka projects - perfect size for cosmetics, sewing notions, knitting and crocheting projects, or what ever needs to be put in a bag! :)
But Janice didn't stop there... oh, no! Third present was this beautiful christmas ornament, gosh, the detail!! Tiny tiny stitches, so cute... my girls were spellbounded!!
And finally... who doesn't love chocolate?!! Especially over christmas when conscience takes a month-off... and particularly when you're pregnant!!!
Oh, yummi AND cute!!
Janice, I hope you will see this post... thank you so much for your generosity and for sharing your talents with me, my (ever growing) family and I really enjoyed it. Have a happy new year ahead with alot of quality time in front of your sewing machine and with your needles and threads at hand!! :)
p.s. this is the table runner I sent to Cathy:

I'm glad you found your presents again. It would have been like an extra Christmas. I made a table runner the same for me last year and it has become a favourite, so I'm happy that the one I made for you suits your home. Your photos of the gifts are lovely, much better than mine.
